The Interactive Museum The Miracle of Fátima is located in the town of Fátima, in the municipality of Ourém. It is accessible on the lower floor of a commercial space, allowing easy access for those visiting the central area of the town.
Its position within Fátima's urban core makes it a point of interest that complements visitors' experience in the region, being integrated into an environment that offers ease of movement.
This museum is dedicated to exploring the historical events related to the Fátima apparitions, which took place in Cova da Iria in 1917. The narrative invites visitors to deepen their understanding of the global context of the time, marked by moments of great uncertainty.
It is possible to follow the sequence of events, from the apparitions of the Angel of Portugal to the three shepherd children (Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta) in 1916, to the subsequent visions of Our Lady. The journey details the messages conveyed, the revelation of the so-called "Secret of Fátima," and culminates in the description of the Miracle of the Sun, which occurred on October 13, 1917, before thousands of people.
To tell this story, the museum employs a contemporary and engaging approach. Visitors are guided through nine distinct spaces, where the narrative is presented with the support of state-of-the-art technology. The use of holograms and the 4D experience contribute to a sensory immersion, allowing visitors to feel more closely the remarkable moments of the Fátima events.
The visit, lasting approximately forty minutes, was designed to be an interactive journey, appealing to different senses. The aim is that, throughout the tour, the profound meaning of the Fátima message is grasped and its global resonance over time, including Pope John Paul II's special relationship with this place.
