Situated in Arrouquelas, in the municipality of Rio Maior, the Golden Eagle Golf Course is set within an extensive estate spanning 540 hectares. Its location offers an environment of great tranquility, surrounded by the natural beauty of gentle hills and a dense forest of pine and cork oak trees, characteristic features of the surrounding landscape.

This area, a few kilometers from the center of Rio Maior, offers a serenity that complements the experience of those seeking closer contact with nature while practicing sports.

Creation and Harmony with Nature

Inaugurated in 1994, the course is the result of the vision of the renowned architect Rocky Roquemore. His project aimed to create a course that would integrate perfectly with the existing topography and vegetation of the estate. Each hole has unique characteristics, winding through native vegetation, where centuries-old pine and cork oak trees delimit the fairways and add a natural dimension to the game.

The aesthetics of the course are enhanced by the presence of nine lakes, some of which feature decorative water elements, adding scenic beauty to the environment. This design values strategy and precision in the game, inviting an experience in total harmony with the rural setting that surrounds it.

The Course and its Challenges

With 18 holes and a Par 72, the Golden Eagle is renowned for its beauty and the demands it places on players. Designed to test skill and precision, it features tee boxes adapted for different skill levels, ensuring the challenge is rewarding for everyone.

Its design balances long and wide fairways with strategic obstacles. Water hazards and numerous bunkers are carefully positioned to protect both landing areas and greens, demanding skill and precision with every shot. The course, extending over 6600 meters from the professional tees, has already hosted significant competitions, including the Portuguese Ladies Open, which attests to its quality and capacity to host prestigious events. Regardless of the playing level, it provides an engaging and rewarding experience.
