Located in the small village of Toucinhos, which is part of the parish of Alburitel, in the municipality of Ourém, the Olive Garden is situated in a tranquil and inviting environment, characteristic of the small towns in the region. This place offers a serene space, set in a more rural surrounding, conducive to moments of calm and relaxation.
Before becoming the current Olive Garden, this space had a history linked to the community, as it housed the old Toucinhos school. With its requalification, the place was completely transformed, transitioning from an educational building to a green leisure area. This intervention allowed the space, which once served to educate generations, to continue playing a central role in the lives of the population, now as a meeting point and public enjoyment area.
True to its name, the garden stands out for the prominent presence of young olive trees, trees that give the space an authentic connection to the Mediterranean and rural Portuguese landscape. The old pine trees, which already existed on site, were carefully preserved, contributing to a natural and inviting atmosphere. The landscaped area, with artificial grass, offers a well-maintained and pleasant surface for walks and relaxation, complementing the presence of the trees.
The Olive Garden was designed to offer various leisure and social options to visitors. For the younger ones, there is a well-equipped children's playground, inviting play and outdoor fun. Enthusiasts of calmer games can enjoy a bocce ball court, while those looking for more dynamic physical activity have access to a mini-basketball court. The space also includes an amphitheatre, ideal for local cultural events or simply for a moment of outdoor rest, serving as an informal meeting point for the community.
