District: Porto > Porto > Porto > Centro Histórico
Located in the parish of Vitória, in the city of Porto, Portugal.
Classified as a Property of Municipal Interest, officially recognized by decree 2/96.
The kiosk has a unique design, with its wooden structure and a hexagonal shape. The roof is inspired by oriental pagodas, giving it a special touch.
It stands out for its vibrant red color, a wooden door and two windows with bars. This kiosk is a landmark in the area.
Built in the 1930s, the kiosk replaced an iron structure that had existed since 1910. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, kiosks were popular meeting places for intellectuals and aristocrats.
Although it has a long commercial tradition, the kiosk currently mainly offers magazines and newspapers, replacing products such as fruits and flowers.
Largo Mompilher is a pleasant space, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the environment while appreciating the architecture of the kiosk.
