The chapel is located on a wooded hill in the center of Vilar do Paraíso, in Vila Nova de Gaia, offering a calm and picturesque environment.

History

The chapel dates back to the 14th century, being an important place of worship in the region. The baroque facade, probably from the 18th century, is one of its main attractions.

Architecture

It stands out for its facade with blue and white tiles, and a bell tower on top. The nave has been preserved, while the chancel and sacristy were demolished in recent renovations.

Interior

On the main altar, there is the image of Saint Martin, in addition to other images of devotion such as Saint Michael and Our Lady of Fatima.

Access

Located in Largo do Jardim, with easy access, the chapel is in a quiet space, surrounded by old buildings.

Heritage

Although not classified, the chapel is part of the important religious heritage of Vilar do Paraíso, which includes several churches and chapels in the region.
