It is a fortified tower dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries, built in the Gothic style.
Also known as Torre Alta or Torre do Lordelo.
Initially linked to the property called Honra dos Brandões, one of the old manor properties.
Despite being locally called "Torre dos Mouros" (Tower of the Moors), it was built long after the period of Muslim rule in Portugal.
Since 1993, it has been classified as a Property of Public Interest.
The tower is integrated into the Romanesque Route, which includes important historical monuments in the region.
