It is located in São Miguel de Lousada, behind the City Hall, in a landscaped area.
This 16th-century monument was transferred to its current location in the 20th century and is a landmark of local history, having been elevated to a town by D. Manuel I in 1514.
Built in granite, the pillory has a base of three square steps and a spiral column that ends in a circular capital.
The top is decorated with a square board featuring geometric moldings. There are also traces of ironwork, suggesting its antiquity.
Recognized as a National Monument since 1910, it stands out for its historical importance.
Although it was a judicial symbol, today it is a tourist spot that attracts visitors interested in local culture.
