The Ínsua is located upstream from the São Gonçalo bridge, near the historic center of Amarante, on the Tâmega River.
With dense and varied vegetation, the Ínsua is a true green refuge in the middle of the river. Here you can find alders, eucalyptus, ash trees, willows, oaks and plane trees, among other species. The surrounding nature offers a tranquil and fresh environment, ideal for those who enjoy natural landscapes.
The Ínsua is about 400 meters long and between 40 and 80 meters wide, with an elongated shape that follows the river's orientation.
This small island, located next to the Ínsua, is about 100 meters long and is connected to the left bank by a walkway. It offers a pleasant place for walking and relaxing by the river.
On the Ilha dos Frades, there is a small pier intended for recreational activities, such as boat trips and river exploration. It is an ideal place to enjoy the Tâmega River in a calm and relaxing way.
Both the Ínsua and the Ilha dos Frades are easily accessible and offer a perfect natural space for those seeking a refuge from the city and want to be in contact with nature.
