Located in Carlos Alberto Square, in front of the Viscounts of Balsemão Palace, in the center of Porto.
The kiosk has a hexagonal shape, built in wood and with a pyramid-shaped roof, which gives it a unique and vertical appearance.
It is an example of the city's old traditional kiosks, which in the past numbered around 70 in Porto.
It was initially registered in 1930, when it was located in Largo de Santo André (now Praça dos Poveiros). In 1948, it was moved to Largo da Ramadinha.
In the 1990s, the original kiosk was in poor condition and was replaced by a replica in 1992. In 2005, it was moved again to its current location in Carlos Alberto Square, during the redevelopment of the area.
The kiosk was classified as of Municipal Value in 1996.
In 2016, the kiosk reopened, standing out for its offer of Portuguese products, with a special focus on ginjinha from Alcobaça.
