History

This building was, until the end of the 1950s, the former residence of the Viscount of Pereira Machado. For several decades, it served as the facilities of the Porto Court of Appeal.

Architecture

Decorative details stand out inside, especially the stucco and gilded wood ceilings, which are of great historical and artistic value. These details reflect the opulent style of the time when the building was built.

Current Use

Currently, the building belongs to the Liga dos Combatentes (League of Combatants), a Portuguese organization that supports ex-military personnel. The place is used for events, workshops and other cultural and social activities promoted by the Porto Nucleus of this League.
