Marreto Beach is located in Lavra, Matosinhos municipality, within the Agudela area. This stretch of North Atlantic coast forms a welcoming cove. To the north, the sandy beach meets the mouth of the Pampelido Stream, while to the south, a remarkable dune cordon extends. Offshore, approximately two hundred meters from the coast, an isolated rocky massif stands out, punctuating the maritime horizon line.
This sandy expanse is vast and features imposing rock formations, particularly in its northern section. As the tide rises, these rocks give rise to small natural pools of water, which prove to be inviting places for children to explore safely. The rocky nature of the beach offers a distinct visual and tactile experience, marked by the coexistence of sand and geological elements.
At Marreto Beach, the landscape offers expansive views of the ocean. A network of wooden walkways facilitates circulation for visitors, making exploration of the sandy beach more convenient. Observing the horizon, it is possible to glimpse the distant profile of Matosinhos' industrial park, creating an interesting contrast between the natural serenity of the coast and human and industrial presence. This environment provides a unique setting for a day by the sea.
