Marbelo Beach is located in the parish of Madalena, in Vila Nova de Gaia, along the Atlantic coast. It is situated on a stretch of coastline marked by granite rock formations, with the sandy area facing west.
This sandy area is part of a group of small coves, where rocky formations create shallow inlets near the waterline, visible from the coastal path connecting Madalena to the neighboring beaches.
The extensive sandy area alternates between fine sand zones and areas dotted with pebbles and small stones carried by the tide. When the water level recedes, natural pools form among the rocks, ideal for observing small marine organisms.
The ocean features pronounced waves, appreciated by surfers seeking consistent breaks. The intense blue color of the sea contrasts with the light tone of the sand, creating particularly beautiful scenery at the end of the day.
The absence of immediate constructions ensures a tranquil environment, although wind is a constant presence on this stretch of coast. Even during busier periods, the available space on the beach allows for peaceful moments by the sea.
The rocky outcrops and the movement of the waves provide a dynamic backdrop for those who enjoy walking along the shore or capturing photographs. The combination of sand, rock, and sea gives the beach an authentic and contemplative atmosphere.
