Located on the urban front of Leça da Palmeira, in the municipality of Matosinhos, Leça da Palmeira Beach stretches along the north bank of the Leça River's estuary. At the northern end of the beach, an architectural particularity enriches the landscape: the Piscinas das Marés (Tidal Pools). This work, by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, consists of saltwater pools, sculpted among the rocks, that harmonize with the natural environment and offer a bathing option in calmer waters.
