Praia de Lavadores (North) is located in Canidelo, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, stretching along the Atlantic Ocean coast. Its strategic position, in the vicinity of the Douro River mouth, marks the beginning of a vast stretch of sand that extends for several kilometres to the south, defining the Gaia seafront.

This coastal stretch is flanked by a seaside promenade, equipped with a cycle path, inviting walks and bike rides, allowing visitors to enjoy the ocean scenery and the Atlantic breeze.

Coastal Features

Praia de Lavadores (North) is characterized by a sandy area whose size can vary significantly with the tides, becoming narrower during high tide. Its landscape is distinctive due to the presence of several scattered rock formations.

These rocks not only shape the beach's physiognomy but also contribute to a more sheltered and unique environment, offering some natural protection from the wind, a notable feature for an Atlantic beach. To the north of the sandy area, one of the largest of these formations is visible, serving as a natural landmark.
