The building's northwest orientation, with views of the Atlantic, reinforces this intrinsic link to the coastal environment.

Seaside Legacy

This building, now known as Posto A, holds a past connected to the seaside vocation of Leça da Palmeira. Originally, it functioned as an old warehouse dedicated to the storage of beach equipment, a fundamental activity for the coastal life in this locality.

Its history dates back to a time when direct support for beachgoers was a necessity, making the building a testament to the evolution of summer practices and the development of the area as a coastal destination.

Design and Transformation

Posto A is an example of architectural requalification that has successfully harmonized preservation with innovation. Its renovation sought to maintain the original layout of the old warehouse, ensuring the continuity of its structural and visual identity.

One of the most striking features of its transformation is the opening of the former northwest gable, which was replaced by a new fully glazed facade. This intervention allowed for a direct visual connection with the exterior and the sea, complemented by shading panels that give the building a contemporary and functional aesthetic.
