SEA LIFE Porto is located in the city of Porto, in the area known as Castelo do Queijo. Its position, strategically along the coastline, offers an environment with the Atlantic breeze. It is situated opposite the Castelo do Queijo, a landmark in the area, and benefits from the proximity to green spaces, which contributes to a relaxed urban atmosphere.

Ocean Life:

This aquarium offers a journey through a vast marine universe, revealing the richness of aquatic ecosystems. Inside, thousands of creatures inhabit dozens of distinct tanks and habitats, which seek to recreate environments from freshwaters to the Atlantic and tropical seas. A highlight is an underwater tunnel, where visitors can closely observe sharks and rays swimming overhead, providing an immersive perspective of the marine world.

The journey allows visitors to discover a diversity of species, including Humboldt penguins in their "Penguin Coast", jellyfish, seahorses, octopuses, and turtles. One of the possible experiences is direct interaction with some species in the touch pools, such as starfish, deepening curiosity about aquatic life.

Commitment to Conservation:

Beyond visual exploration, SEA LIFE Porto plays an active role in marine life protection. Opened in 2009, the centre integrates conservation initiatives, such as the coral nursery. This project represents a pioneering effort in Portugal for the reproduction of endangered corals, contributing to the global preservation of these species. Through this work, the aim is to highlight the importance of ocean sustainability and the role of each individual in their defence.

The centre also includes areas dedicated to understanding animal protection and welfare work, with the purpose of raising awareness about the challenges oceans face and the actions that can be developed for their conservation. Interactive tools, such as the "SEA SCAN" application, complement the visit, allowing for a more in-depth exploration of the underwater world.
