One of its unique features is the integration of lakes, designed to function as water retention basins, demonstrating a commitment to urban environmental management.

Memory and Homage

This green space is dedicated to the former President of the Republic, Dr. Mário Soares, a prominent figure in Portuguese democratic history. The homage is materialized by the presence of a bust, a piece created by sculptor Lagoa Henriques, based on a model existing at the Mário Soares and Maria Barroso Foundation. This sculptural element underlines the symbolic nature of the park, linking it to the memory of a central figure of 20th-century Portugal.
