It's located in Foz do Douro, in the city of Porto, within the Jardim do Passeio Alegre, next to the point where the Douro River meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Ideal for resting, taking a break, or simply walking calmly. Even on colder days, it remains pleasant and peaceful.
The lake is surrounded by green lawns, seasonal flowers, and decorative sculptures that give it a classic and welcoming feel.
Tall trees and dense vegetation offer shade on hotter days, making it ideal for families, couples, or solo visitors.
In the center of the lake there are sculptures of children playing with water, which gives rise to the name "Lake of the Children" (“Lago dos Meninos”). The figures are elegant and bring harmony to the space.
It can be visited every day without any cost. Entry to the garden is free and there are benches, flat paths and grass areas for picnics.
You can arrive by tram (tram No. 1, get off at the last stop) or by car. There are also pedestrian areas ideal for a walk to the sea.
On Sundays there is usually a small market with local products, perfect for discovering crafts and typical flavors.
