The Novo Rumo Urban Park is located in the City of Maia, integrated into the residential area of the Novo Rumo Urbanization. This green space is strategically positioned, bordering to the west with National Road 14.

Its location allows it to be an easily accessible point for rest and leisure in Maia's urban environment, offering a harmonious transition between city life and a more natural setting.

Design and Accessibility

With an area of two hectares, the park was carefully designed on a terrain characterized by its steep slopes and embankments. This topographical feature was leveraged to create various leisure zones, where the visual perspective transforms as visitors move through the space, inviting a gradual discovery of each nook.

A winding pedestrian path crosses the entire park, connecting the lower elevation areas to the higher ones. This layout invites both a leisurely stroll and more dynamic physical exercise.

Flora and Natural Environment

The Novo Rumo Urban Park stands out for its botanical diversity and its focus on native vegetation. In the forest area, it is possible to observe the process of replacing exotic species, such as Eucalyptus, with native trees, namely Oaks, enriching local biodiversity.

Near the area dedicated to children's play, species such as the English Oak and the Horse-chestnut are found. At the park's access point, through the urbanization, patches of drought-resistant shrubs, including Abelia, Cotoneaster, and White Rockrose, have been planted, adding color and texture to the landscape throughout the year.

Outdoor Leisure and Well-being

At the higher elevations of the park, visitors find infrastructures designed for active leisure and well-being. There is a play area specially designed for children, providing a safe and fun environment for the little ones.

Additionally, the park offers an outdoor gym with accessible equipment for different ages and fitness levels, ideal for those looking to stay active in a natural and peaceful environment.
