Montedeiras Park is located in the parish of Sande and São Lourenço do Douro, in the municipality of Marco de Canaveses. It is situated in the Montedeiras area, within the heart of the Montedeiras Mountain Range. This mountain range possesses a singular characteristic: its entire area is located entirely within the boundaries of the municipality of Marco de Canaveses, lending the park a distinctive geographical setting.

A Space Amidst Nature:

With an area of approximately 2.4 hectares, Montedeiras Park offers a welcoming natural environment. The space comprises a diversity of landscapes, including woodland areas that provide shade, ideal for warmer days. There are also green buffer zones, enriched with indigenous flora, and a wide "sunlit clearing" (clareira do sol), an open and inviting space for various outdoor activities.

Leisure and Gathering Areas:

The park was designed for leisure and sharing, offering various infrastructures for visitors. It features a picnic area equipped with tables and benches, where visitors can enjoy outdoor meals, supported by barbecue grills. For recreational moments, there is a sports field with goals. The park also includes an amphitheatre, built with natural materials, which can serve as a stage for small events or as a tranquil nook to enjoy the landscape.

Distinctive Elements and Local Memory:

Refurbished with a project designed by architect Sérgio Pinto, Montedeiras Park holds a particular significance for the local community, being present in the collective memory of the inhabitants of Marco de Canaveses. One of its most notable features are the dynamic sculptures, arranged in three thematic areas. These artistic representations pay homage to the rich fauna and flora of the Montedeiras Mountain Range, with pieces dedicated to plants, birds, and mammals, inviting contemplation and appreciation of the surrounding ecosystem.
