The Alameda de Cartes Park is located in Cartes, in the parish of Campanhã, within the municipality of Porto. A New Green Lung

With an area of over four hectares, the Alameda de Cartes Park represents a true "lung" for the city of Porto. This space was carefully planned with the planting of over a thousand trees and shrubs, predominantly native species, which contribute to a notable improvement in air quality and a reduction in noise pollution. Its vast dimension offers a sense of spaciousness and connection with nature, even while being integrated into a vibrant urban context.

Paths and Natural Retreats

The park offers over one and a half kilometers of pedestrian paths, inviting tranquil walks or invigorating runs. Along these paths, it's possible to discover various areas designed for well-being and social interaction. There are open clearings, flower meadows, and designed gardens, which provide different environments for active recreation or moments of simple contemplation. It is a space that encourages physical activity and the enjoyment of local biodiversity, with nooks that change color and texture throughout the year.

A Project with an Environmental Vision

The Alameda de Cartes Park is the result of a landscape architecture project that incorporated innovative and sustainable solutions. The selection of plant species, which includes a combination of fast and slow-growing trees, aims to create an evolving landscape, ensuring carbon sequestration and the long-term promotion of biodiversity. One of the distinctive aspects is the integrated management of rainwater, which is fully infiltrated and managed on-site through drainage systems and natural retention basins, demonstrating a commitment to climate resilience and environmental sustainability in the city.
