ISEP is located in the city of Porto, in the parish of Paranhos, near the Hospital de São João, in an area with several higher education institutions.

History

Founded in 1852 as the Porto Industrial School, it was one of the first engineering schools in Portugal, originating from the need for technical training for local industry. It was renamed the Porto Higher Institute of Engineering in 1974.
