The central space of Casa de Simães, highlighting the historical ambiance and traditional architecture of a 17th-century manor house.
The gardens are spacious and well-maintained, providing a tranquil environment. Here, one can appreciate the landscape and relax outdoors.
The main gate is monumental, topped by a coat of arms with the arms of the Pinto, Pereira, Silva, and Coelho families, important symbols of the lineage that occupied the house.
The set of fountains is one of the great attractions. Four of them represent the continents known at the time (Europe, Asia, Africa, and America), each related to one of the quarters of the coat of arms. The fifth fountain, with a figure of Cupid, offers a more artistic detail. To the west, there is also a fountain with a mythological figure dominating a serpent.
Sculptures dating from the 18th century can be found in the courtyard. These statues, carefully arranged, embellish the space and show the artistic influence of the time.
The wall surrounding the property is high and crenellated, conferring a sense of protection and imposing presence to the place. Upon passing through the gate, the visitor senses the historical importance of the property.
