Bom Sucesso Market is located in Porto, in the parish of Massarelos. It is easily accessible from both Praça do Bom Sucesso and Largo de Ferreira Lapa.
Opened in 1952 as a fresh produce market, the building features modern architecture, with a reinforced concrete structure and a vaulted roof that allows natural light to enter. This market is an interesting example of the design of the time, and its renovation preserved part of the original style.
In 2011, the building was classified as a monument of public interest and, after a major renovation, reopened in 2013. Currently, the market combines traditional commerce with a gallery of shops, restaurants, offices, and a hotel.
The interior of the market has been modernized, featuring 44 stalls in the center, 14 shops in the corridors, and several areas for selling fresh products. These spaces maintain the market spirit, but with a contemporary touch.
Inside the market is the Hotel da Música, a hotel with 85 rooms. The hotel's restaurant, Bom Sucesso Gourmet, offers a unique concept: in addition to the usual menu, customers can buy fresh produce at the market and ask the chef to cook it.
Since 2019, the management of the market has passed to a new business group, and new redevelopment plans have been approved. The expansion includes the installation of a supermarket and more shops and restaurants, with a dedicated dining area.
