Located between Rua do Campo Alegre, Rua Rainha D. Estefânia, Rua do Bom Sucesso, and Travessa do Campo Alegre, in the parish of Massarelos, Porto.
The houses were built between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
This area was occupied by families of great economic, social, and cultural importance in the city of Porto. These families, often linked to the British community, reflected the taste of the time in their homes.
The dwellings are mainly villas surrounded by gardens. Among the highlights are the Burmester family's palace, in Art Nouveau style, as well as the residences of the Andresen and Primo Madeira families.
The complex is classified as being of Municipal Interest, protected by legislation since 1983.
It is a quiet residential area, characterized by elegant houses, many with large gardens and dense vegetation, creating a very pleasant environment for walking.
