Located in the coastal area of Boa Nova, next to the Leça Lighthouse, in the town of Leça da Palmeira, municipality of Matosinhos, near the city of Porto.
The building is an emblematic work by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, one of the most important in Portugal. Designed between 1958 and 1963, the space was built on the rocks, very close to the sea, providing a harmonious connection between architecture and the natural landscape.
The Tea House offers a unique view of the Atlantic Ocean, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the proximity of the sea. Ideal for those who appreciate the combination of nature, architecture and good gastronomy.
Since 2011, the building has been classified as a National Monument, recognizing its architectural and cultural value.
The project arose from a competition promoted by the Matosinhos City Council in 1956, which was won by the architect Fernando Távora. It was he who entrusted Álvaro Siza with the execution of the project, marking the beginning of his career as an architect.
Initially, it functioned only as a tea house. Nowadays, it is divided between a bar, where you can enjoy a tea or coffee overlooking the sea, and a restaurant, known for its gastronomy.
It is a mandatory stop for lovers of architecture, gastronomy and for those looking for a peaceful space by the sea.
