Located in Cristelos, in the municipality of Lousada, easily accessible by the EN 106 and EM 1132 roads.
The hillfort dates back to the 4th century BC and is an important vestige of the Iron Age.
The settlement covers approximately five hectares, located on top of the São Domingos hill, with privileged views over the Mezio river valley.
It has three lines of walls, which surround the platforms where the dwellings were located, providing excellent defense conditions.
It is the largest proto-historic settlement in the region and reveals later Roman occupations.
The area includes a medieval necropolis with graves that offer insights into the funerary rituals of the time.
A Roman house from the 1st to 3rd centuries AD stands out, built on vestiges of the Iron Age.
There are plans to create a museum space that preserves the discoveries and makes the site accessible to the public, promoting knowledge about the life of the ancient inhabitants.
The state of conservation is considered good, with efforts underway for its classification.
