The Cruzeiro de Cete (Cete Cross) is located in the churchyard of the Ermida de Nossa Senhora do Vale (Chapel of Our Lady of the Valley), in Cete, municipality of Paredes.
The cross is part of a group classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1963, and is part of the Romanesque Route of Vale do Sousa.
The cross consists of an octagonal granite column, set on a circular platform of three steps. At the top is a simple cross pattée, typical of religious monuments in the region.
The cross is dated to the late 15th or early 16th century, being a typical example of Manueline religious art, with late-medieval influences.
This cross is not only a religious symbol, but also a landmark of pilgrimage and devotion, situated in a place that, in the past, hosted pilgrimages and outdoor celebrations.
The cross is integrated into a calm space, surrounded by green areas and easily accessible, providing a pleasant environment for contemplation.
