Located in Caíde de Rei, municipality of Lousada, Casa e Quinta de Almeida is situated in a rural area, standing out for being surrounded by a wooded and walled area. Access is via two gates, a main one in wrought iron, which leads to an avenue of lime trees.
This romantic-style manor house consists of a main two-story building, a chapel, and a turret with battlements. The turret includes a built-in fountain, and there is another fountain in the garden. The house has several facades, with decorative elements such as grated windows and chimneys that recall its noble construction.
The chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Conceição (Our Lady of the Conception) is attached to the building and stands out for its simple architecture, with an ornamented portal and a Latin cross on top. Inside the chapel and the house, details of classical architecture and historical elements can be observed.
In the back, there is a beautiful boxwood garden and other landscaped areas, ideal for outdoor walks. The magnolias next to the main gate add a touch of natural charm to the property.
Dating back to the 19th century, Casa de Almeida maintains much of its original layout, with restorations over the years to preserve its charm and unique characteristics. The place, formerly a noble residence, is now a space of cultural and historical interest.
