History

Casa de Vila Verde belongs to the same family, the Pinto de Mesquitas, since the 17th century. Its exact origin is uncertain, but there are records indicating the existence of a medieval tower, dating from the 12th or 13th centuries. The house is officially mentioned during the reign of D. Manuel I.

Architecture

Classified as a Property of Public Interest, Casa de Vila Verde is known for the harmony of its façade and the presence of a prominent chapel. Its construction has been expanded over the centuries, maintaining elements from different eras. The chapel, located in front of the house, stands out for its simple but imposing architecture.

Location

Located in the Vinho Verde region, in the Sousa valley, Casa de Vila Verde is about 40 km from Porto, in a rural and quiet area, surrounded by vineyards and gardens.

Vinho Verde Wines

Casa de Vila Verde has a long tradition in the production of Vinho Verde wines, with records dating back to the 17th century. Today, the estate is mainly dedicated to wine production, using modern techniques combined with the secular tradition of the region. With 70 hectares of vineyards, the Casa's Vinho Verde wines are recognized for their quality.

Events

Casa de Vila Verde offers an event hall with capacity for up to 250 people. This space has been adapted from old farm buildings, combining rustic and contemporary elements, ideal for weddings and celebrations. The garden and parking lot complement the space, providing a comfortable and pleasant environment.

Gastronomy

The estate's catering offers regional cuisine, inspired by the typical flavors of the Vinho Verde region, with the possibility of adapting the menus to specific preferences, including vegetarian and vegan options. Personalization is a priority, ensuring that each event has a unique touch.

Agricultural Exploitation

The estate covers an area of 100 hectares, where, in addition to wine production, traditional agricultural activities are maintained. The rural environment, the vines, and the gardens give the estate an authentic and picturesque setting.
