Open to the public since 1975, this House-Museum invites visitors to discover the environment in which Abel Salazar lived. The spaces have been preserved, seeking to maintain the original arrangement of furniture and objects. By walking through the different rooms on various floors, it is possible to feel the atmosphere of the era and imagine the daily life of such a multifaceted personality, from the more formal to the more private areas.
The House-Museum houses a diverse collection that reflects Abel Salazar's passions. Visitors can appreciate his artistic production, from early paintings depicting rural life and life in Minho, through portraits of friends and family, to works capturing women's daily work. His sculptures and a remarkable set of hammered copper pieces, whose technique is considered unique in Portuguese art, deserve special attention.
