The Alpendurada Monastery is located in Alpendurada, in the parish of Alpendorada, Várzea e Torrão, municipality of Marco de Canaveses.
This Benedictine monastery was originally founded in the 11th century, but its old structures have not survived. The reconstruction of the monastery took place mainly between the 17th and 18th centuries.
Both the monastery and its church and sacristy were classified as a Monument of Public Interest in 2013.
The building is currently transformed into the Hotel Convento de Alpendurada, although in 2021 it was put up for sale at auction due to financial difficulties of the company that operated it.
This church, also known as the Parish Church of Alpendurada, is located in a side wing of the monastery. It is one of the most important historical elements of the complex, but is excluded from the sale process of the monastery.
