Location

Prainha is located in the village of Poça da Barca, in the municipality of Vila do Conde. This small cove is integrated into the urban area, uniquely situated within the city's harbor, on the western coast of Portugal.

Natural Features and Maritime Environment

With a modest-sized sandy area and a northwest orientation, Prainha offers a sheltered space by the sea. Its privileged location, within Vila do Conde's harbor, gives it a distinctive characteristic: its waters are typically serene, benefiting from natural and artificial protection against the stronger swells of the Atlantic Ocean.

An extensive pontoon, over one hundred and twenty meters long, delimits the beach to the west. This structure not only defines part of Prainha's landscape but also plays a fundamental role in protecting the sandy area and safeguarding smaller vessels that use the harbor, creating a calmer and more sheltered environment.
