Location

Parish of São João Baptista, 6.5 km west of Castelo de Vide.

History

Part of the ancient Necropolis of Alcogulo, this monument dates from the Neolithic period and has been classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1997.

Structure

With a polygonal chamber and a 5.5-meter corridor, the dolmen has no roof and is partially covered by a tumulus.

Access

Reachable via the EM 1023 towards Alagoa, near the bridge over the Ribeira de Nisa.

Findings

Excavations have uncovered ceramics, arrowheads, and an idol, highlighting its historical relevance.

Environment

Located in a quiet rural area, surrounded by pastures and trees, ideal for visits.
