Anta 4 de Coureleiros is located in the rural area surrounding the village of Castelo de Vide. Its location offers direct contact with the Alentejo landscape, characterized by serenity and expansive views over the surrounding fields.

Scale and Imposing Nature:

This megalithic funerary monument stands out for its remarkable scale within the Coureleiros archaeological site. The sense of imposing grandeur it conveys stems directly from the size of the large vertical stones, or 'esteios' (upright stones), used in its construction thousands of years ago.

The magnitude of these stones testifies to the collective effort and primitive engineering of the communities that inhabited this area in Prehistory.

Corridor Structure:

Upon approaching the dolmen, one observes the presence of a corridor leading to the central chamber, a common feature in this type of construction. In the case of Anta 4, this access is particularly narrow.

The corridor is defined by a set of ten lateral 'esteios' (upright stones), symmetrically arranged, which delimit the entrance path to the monument's interior space.
