Anta da Coutada de Alcogulo is located in Santa Maria da Devesa, in Castelo de Vide, surrounded by vegetation.
This megalithic monument, made of granite, has a corridor and seven pillars, five of which are in good condition. The large block of stone that covers it gives it an imposing appearance.
It has been a National Monument since 1910, being one of the best preserved in the region.
The dolmen is a megalithic tomb dating from between 4000 and 2000 BC, attracting visitors interested in ancient history.
Located on private land, it is necessary to ask the owner for permission to visit. Be prepared for a hike and be careful with livestock that may be loose.
Always close the gates when entering and be aware of signs of hunting areas, as hunting takes place on specific days.
