Praça do Município, Nisa, next to the public garden.
Originally built in the 16th century, the current pillory was rebuilt in the 18th century. After being dismantled and reused for other purposes, it was restored in 1968.
Made of marble, with a base of three steps, an octagonal column and an armillary sphere on top. The sword at the top symbolizes justice.
It served to mark the judicial power of the town, being used to punish criminals.
A monument classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1933, it is a historical symbol of Nisa.
