The space that today houses Casa das Memórias Nisa is the result of a careful revitalization effort. The project transformed the old Cadeia Velha (Old Jail) and an adjacent house into a cohesive cultural complex, where the original design and history of the building meet contemporary architectural elements. This intervention allowed for the creation of an environment that honors the site's past while adapting it to the demands of a modern cultural center.

Casa das Memórias Nisa functions as a hub for the safeguarding and promotion of the region's heritage and identity. Inside, it houses the Municipal Historical Archive, which preserves documents and records that bear witness to the community's memory. The space also dedicates an area to a permanent exhibition on the traditional costumes of the municipality, offering a perspective on local attire and customs over time.
