The Alamal Walkway and the Belver Bridge are located in the Quinta do Alamal area, next to the town of Belver, in the municipality of Gavião. This privileged location is situated on the banks of the Tagus River, providing an immersive experience in the Alentejo nature.
From this point, the view extends to the riverside landscape and, notably, the imposing Belver Castle, which rises on the hill on the opposite bank, calmly observing the river's flow.
The walkway stretches for about 3 kilometers, in an out-and-back route that follows the bank of the Tagus River. It is characterized by a mostly flat path and a well-maintained surface, with few irregularities, which facilitates access for different visitors, including families and those with reduced mobility.
Walking along this walkway is an opportunity to appreciate the tranquility of the environment, with the sounds of nature and the constant view of the river creating an atmosphere of serenity and well-being.
The Belver Bridge marks one of the ends of the walkway, serving as a visual reference point in this natural setting. Along the route, the presence of Belver Castle is a constant on the horizon.
This ancient fortification, built in a prominent position in the landscape, complements the natural beauty of the Tagus Valley. Its robust and strategic silhouette, rising over the hill, offers a historical and visual counterpoint that enriches the experience of those who traverse the walkway.
