Espaço.Arte is located in Campo Maior, in the São João Baptista area. It is housed in the former Escola da Avenida, situated in Largo dos Carvajais, a central position in the town.
This cultural venue occupies the building that once functioned as the EB1 da Avenida School. The property underwent restoration by the municipality, which transformed it into a space dedicated to artistic and cultural activities. This intervention allowed a historical building to be given new life, integrating it into the current dynamics of the town.
Espaço.Arte has rooms prepared to host exhibitions. Part of the collection that can be seen here is integrated into the municipality's collection, which comes from the heritage of the former Campo Maior Plastic Arts Association. This collection includes works by Portuguese artists, some of whom have international projection. In addition to presenting this heritage, the space regularly hosts temporary exhibitions and various events related to visual and performing arts.
The creation of this space reflects the importance given to culture in Campo Maior. By rehabilitating a building in the town center and dedicating it to art, Espaço.Arte contributes to the revitalization of the area and offers a meeting point and cultural enjoyment for visitors to the locality.
