Neo-Chalcolithic
The Anta da Coutada de Barbacena is a megalithic monument with a polygonal chamber and a corridor. Although some supports have disappeared, the chamber's covering remains in its original position. There are also covering slabs on the site. The tumulus that surrounds it is partly preserved.
Classified as a National Monument since 1939.
Located on the top of a hill with low vegetation, the dolmen stands out in the landscape surrounded by eucalyptus trees. It is part of the Fontalva necropolis, which includes other important monuments.
Originally funerary, it is now a place of cultural and recreational interest.
