It is located in Alpalhão, municipality of Nisa, next to the Calvary Chapel.
It was declared a Property of Public Interest in 1977, being considered a monument of patrimonial value.
The cross dates back to the 16th century.
In 1953, reconstruction works were started by the Parish Council, but the works were interrupted and resumed in 1957, which gave it its current appearance.
It is made of blue granite from the region, about two meters high. The column has an octagonal shape and rests on three square steps.
At the top, a Latin cross stands, with two sculpted figures. On one side is the Crucified One, and on the other, Saint John the Evangelist with the Virgin Mary.
