Located in Largo Dr. Santa Clara, in the historical center of Elvas, surrounded by old buildings.
Built in the 16th century, during the reign of D. Manuel I, and rebuilt in 1942 after being dismantled in the 19th century.
Manueline style, with a base of five steps and a column decorated with spheres and sculpted ropes. It ends with a pyramid on top.
Symbol of power and place of public punishment, with iron restraints still visible.
Protected historical monument and point of cultural interest for visitors.
Made of marble, with metal elements in the irons.
