Lush green mountains gently slope down to the Atlantic, forming a natural amphitheatre overlooking the sea. From this vantage point, one can see the silhouette of the Desertas Islands and the island's easternmost tip, Ponta de São Lourenço, offering a broad and scenic perspective of the coastal landscape.

Machico Beach stands out in the Madeiran landscape for its yellow sand beach, a remarkable feature on the island. Measuring approximately one hundred and twenty-five meters in length and seventy meters in width, the beach provides a distinct and inviting environment for visitors.

Legacy and Transformation

The location where Machico Beach now stands holds considerable historical value, as this bay was the landing point for the first navigators who arrived in Madeira in 1419. Over time, the area underwent careful transformations to enhance its potential and improve visitors' experience. Prior to the implementation of the yellow sand beach, interventions included the expansion of the pier, the creation of a seaside promenade, and the construction of a bridge, elements that now integrate its identity and facilitate the enjoyment of the space.
