The Parque das Nações Cable Car is located in the modern area of Lisbon, in the Parque das Nações. This facility extends over the Tagus River, offering a unique perspective of the riverside. Its stations, one to the north and one to the south, define a route that integrates into the dynamic landscape of this city area.
This cable car provides a distinct way to observe the landscape of Parque das Nações. The glass-enclosed cabins, designed for visitor comfort, glide smoothly through the air, allowing an unobstructed view of the Tagus estuary and the surrounding area. The journey takes place at a height of approximately thirty meters, revealing the grandeur of the river and the contemporary architecture that characterizes this part of Lisbon.
The Parque das Nações Cable Car was inaugurated in the context of the 1998 World Exposition, the famous Expo '98, which transformed this industrial area into a prominent urban space. Since then, it has remained a standout feature, a legacy of the forward-thinking vision that marked that event and continues to attract those seeking a different view of the capital.
During the route, which extends for over one kilometer and two hundred meters over the water, the cable car offers a wide panorama of the landscape. Leaving the ground for a few minutes, it is possible to admire the vast expanse of the Tagus, the coastline, and the way Parque das Nações is organized, revealing a scenic dimension that is only fully perceptible from the air.
