A Renewed Promenade

This promenade stands out for its recent requalification, which aimed to modernize and improve the experience of its users. The interventions focused on the partial replacement of the cobblestone pavement with concrete slabs, which now define a wide central avenue and create more comfortable pedestrian corridors. The objective was to ensure more fluid and safe pedestrian circulation, contributing to a more pleasant experience in the heart of this area.

The concern for accessibility was a fundamental part of this renovation. Significant improvements were implemented, particularly in the areas close to services and commerce, to ensure that access to the promenade and its surroundings is facilitated for people with reduced mobility, reinforcing the inclusion and functionality of the space.

Details of Environment and Aesthetics

The environment of the Vitorino Nemésio Promenade is enriched by careful attention to green spaces and urban design elements. The existing flowerbeds were significantly reinforced with new plantings, including a diversity of species such as Olaias, Fire Trees, and Olive Trees, which bring color and vitality to the scenery. Additionally, a new arboreal curtain was created to delimit the adjacent parking area, harmonizing the transition between the different zones.

Regarding the details, the edges of the flowerbeds were replaced with traditional brick cladding, lending a touch of authenticity and beauty to the ensemble. The urban equipment, such as benches, litter bins, and a drinking fountain, was recovered and modernized. The public lighting was also completely renovated, contributing to the safety and beauty of the promenade at dusk, enhancing its overall aesthetic.
