Located in the Campo Grande area of Lisbon, this green space is integrated into an urban area that serves as the city's lung. It offers a calm and inviting atmosphere, a haven of serenity where visitors can enjoy closer contact with nature.
Its position in Campo Grande, a prominent area in the capital, guarantees accessibility that allows for a relaxed visit, ideal for a moment of pause and contemplation in the city center.
This plot transports the visitor to the atmosphere of Coloane Island, in the territory of Macau, evoking the landscapes of China through a carefully designed landscape arrangement. The presence of elements such as Cycas Revoluta and black-trunked bamboo suggests entry into this Asian-inspired environment.
The design integrates wood in various elements, such as screens and flooring, which form suspended platforms over a lake. In this body of water, it is possible to observe a rice plantation, adding a touch of authenticity to the representation of this subtropical ecosystem.
The vegetation present here mirrors a subtropical forest climate, characterized by a rich diversity of species and vibrantly colored shrubs. Along the path, the gaze is guided by a succession of trees with striking blooms, such as Albizia, which capture attention with their showy flowers.
Further on, one finds elegant Magnolias, delicate Camellias, and unique Bauhinia. Also noteworthy are the Broussonetia Papyrifera, common along riverbanks, and the impressive Ginkgo biloba, known as "dinosaur-era trees," which reach about eight meters in height. The path is further enriched by the presence of Ficus virens, known as the "pagoda tree," and fields of rice emerging from the water.
The planning of this space favors progressive discovery, revealing itself to the visitor through "cut-off angles" that create dynamic perspectives. The pathway over wooden platforms not only facilitates exploration of the site but also accentuates the sense of immersion in the landscape.
The combination of landscape architecture with botanical selection seeks to recreate an environment that stimulates the senses and invites careful observation, offering a cohesive and harmonious visual and sensory experience.
