The Street Art Park is located in the city of Lisbon, within the municipality of the same name. Specifically situated on Rua David Mourão Ferreira, in the Lumiar area, this space is integrated into a recently renovated garden. It extends over a considerable area, covering approximately 4,300 square meters, offering an open environment dedicated to artistic expression in the urban landscape.
This park constitutes the first of its kind in Portugal, and is also one of the few examples worldwide. Inaugurated in June 2022, the Street Art Park was conceived as a convergence point for the diverse manifestations of urban art. The central objective is to bring together in one location everything related to this universe, from graffiti and the creation of artistic murals, to other forms of performative expression, such as break dance.
The Street Art Park offers fourteen walls dedicated to free painting, designed to accommodate a multiplicity of artistic perspectives and proposals without restrictions. In addition to these open canvases, the park includes a specific area for skateboarding, designated as the Pump Track Skate, which complements the leisure and sports offerings. There are also other zones that can be flexibly used for different types of performances and exhibitions, fostering an environment of cultural dynamism.
The creation of this space aims to encourage the development of urban art, providing a place where artists, both Portuguese and foreign, whether novice or experienced, can express themselves freely. The initiative contributes to the regeneration of neighborhoods and the valorization of public space. At the same time, it seeks to mitigate unauthorized interventions, while establishing a permanent and enriching contact between the artist community and the city's inhabitants.
