The Alto da Serafina Viewpoint is located in the parish of Benfica, Lisbon, integrated into a higher area of the Alto da Serafina Recreational Park. It is situated in an area enveloped by the nature of Serra de Monsanto, offering a distinct and more secluded environment. This observation point is characterized by a clearing, partly lawned and partly paved, providing an open space to enjoy the landscape.
From the Alto da Serafina Viewpoint, the view is primarily oriented towards the eastern side of Lisbon. In the distance, one can spot the imposing 25 de Abril Bridge, stretching over the Tagus River, and, on the south bank, the presence of Cristo-Rei, in Almada. The perspective also includes significant elements of Lisbon's urban panorama, such as the distinctive Amoreiras Towers and the majestic structure of the Águas Livres Aqueduct. Although the surrounding mountain vegetation frames the landscape, it contributes to the feeling of being immersed in a natural refuge, with a focus on specific points of the city.
This viewpoint offers an opportunity to enjoy moments of calm and contact with nature, away from the urban hustle and bustle. The environment is inviting for a break and contemplation, providing a sense of peace. On site, there is a shelter with benches, serving as a resting point and cover, ideal for those seeking a serene space to observe the landscape or simply relax surrounded by Monsanto's greenery. Its more secluded and tranquil position within the park contributes to its relaxing atmosphere.
