Quinta dos Chãos is located in Santo Isidoro, on the outskirts of the municipality of Mafra, surrounded by green areas and small rural villages. The property extends along Avenida das Laranjeiras, in a tranquil setting that combines the rural landscape with the sparse urban fabric of this locality.
In the vicinity, olive groves and vineyards stand out, revealing the region's agricultural tradition, offering a calm setting and a direct perspective over the surrounding fields.
Erected in the mid-19th century, Quinta dos Chãos was owned by the Morgados dos Chãos, also known as the Gorjões family. Later, it passed to the Pisani family, whose member José Pisani da Cruz served as president of the Mafra Municipal Council between 1902 and 1904. This history reflects the intimate connection between the estate and local history, marked by the influence of agricultural families and their participation in municipal life.
The architectural ensemble includes a regular-plan manor house, clad in pink stucco, with a main portal of neoclassical influence. At the ends of the building, two small, simply designed chapels rise, where the triangular gable stands out.
Also visible are two old water reservoirs, an interior garden with geometric lines, and a freer outdoor space, punctuated by large trees that provide shade and a vegetal rhythm to the estate's large enclosure.
